Jim gets discharged! After waiting for what felt like an eternity, Jim gets discharged to the comfort of home. Transferring from a health system to health care is a welcome relief!

When we left the hospital, Jim transitioned from a health system to health care. Living in the health system was like riding in Dorothy’s house through the tornado. Shades of gray muted everything as the world spun around us, hurling the contents of our lives past our window.

Our emergence into health care was greeted by all the colorful cheerfulness of Munchkin land. It was a welcome change that excited our senses. Jim’s balance scale tipped back heavily toward personhood. Reclaiming some control over the basics of our lives reinvigorated our hope and optimism. The change was a marvelous relief.
