Meet your team

Jim receives a preliminary diagnosis in the midst of Emergency Room chaos. Befuddled by their surroundings and traumatized by the news of Jim’s condition, they seek answers from a pack of medical professionals.

The doctors who showed up that morning were proud to introduce us to our dedicated health care ‘team,’ which seemed to consist of about 100 people, most of whom looked like they were the age of our kids. It quickly became clear that we did not have a shared definition of ‘team.’ I guess if one’s idea of a team is a group of people standing next to each other, then sure, it was a team. In my eyes, however, this group of people standing next to each other felt more like a mob.
